The first attempt at this annual event was cancelled due to inclement weather - it is always held on the closest Thursday to the longest day and this year the 21st of June happened to be on a Thursday.
At 6.30pm the rain was relentless and we reluctantly made the sensible decision to abandon all thoughts of an evening spent gazing at motorcycles - other than our own in the garage!
Disappointed and forlorn we opened a bottle of wine in an attempt to cheer ourselves up - any excuse!
However, we happened to hear that the evening had been rescheduled to July and our hopes were revived.
The new date loomed and the forecast was much better.
