Gathering of Wrinklies on 10 May 2012

Andy and I will lead a ride from the Ruishton Pub and ending up back at the pub on May 10th.

We will leave prompt at 7.30pm to make the most of the daylight.

Do try to come along and make it an enjoyable evening.

Well we had a great ride out in some lovely weather.

It's a real shame that not one single paid up member of the club bothered to get on their bike and join us. Three prospective members joined us for the ride. What sort of impression of this club did it give them? Some members are always carping on about how much we need new blood. Well, if we're not prepared to ride our bikes we can't really expect to attract new members can we?

My excuse for not being there, is ongoing health problems, and numerous hospital visits. Most likely excuse for quite a few of the others, maybe they got there bikes dirty at abbey hill steam rally, and are still to pissed to clean them ready for another ride out.

Sorry to hear about your health problems Len. We didn't go back into the pub when we got back from our ride but I suspect it had a fair few club members in there who had turned up in their cars. We saw some of them arrive as we pulled out of the car park. Obviously that's their choice but sadly, in my opinion, the club is rapidly turning into a social club that has very little to do with motorbikes.

Just wanted to say that I too I very sorry to hear you are having health problems - lets hope all is sorted out very soon.

As Andy has said we were extremely disappointed with the lack of any support on Thursday night - it was a lovely evening and a cracking ride.

I have not been to the club at ruishton since september, but am a paid up member. ongoing heart issues prevents me doing lots at mo. even this weekend lots of sunshine, but alas im not allowed to drive for 48 hours, having undergone another angiogram at musgrove yesterday. 3 bikes and cant ride them. can only get better. thanks both for good wishes regards my health. Hope you both have a good weekend and plenty of biking in the future warm days.
